This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the world! Everything here
is unbelievably good. I particularly recommend the red and green curries,
the crab-stuffed snapper, the tom yum soup, and the mango sorbet. The
staff is fantastic - if you become a regular, they will always remember
you and your favorite dishes. The maitre d' is especially friendly
and is an excellent resource if you can't decide what to order!
The food is remarkably complex and flavorful. You will never find Thai
food like this anywhere else!

The best Thai food I have ever had. My wife and I used to come every
week. We have since moved to Brooklyn, but we still try to come
back as often as we can. We can't find better Thai food anywhere
in NYC! I don't ever want this Thai restaurant to go away.

I have been to several Thai restaurants and never thought of Thai
as anything more than "spicy chinese food". I am now
a Thai convert. Not only was it the best Thai food I have ever had,
it was some of the best food of any variety I have ever had. The signature
snapper dish is outstanding and addicting (we ordered a 2nd one
halfway thru our meal and now I am having withdrawal symptoms)...the
duck curry is excellent (although a little small)...mee krob
excellent. Everything we had was excellent. For those who like
it spicy, it takes nothing more than a mention to the very accomodating
wait staff to have them fire it up. I will be back, every week if
I can.

The following is a reprint of a professional review by Ms. Sammath

An Artfully Prepared Feast Fit for the King of Siam
By Laurie Sammeth
If Thai food is an acquired taste, Chatham's New Main Taste Thai
Cuisine is most apt to put a novice in an acquisitive frame of mind.
On our most recent visit, a friend who'd thought herself immune
to this national style became an instant convert.
Thailand's chefs have absorbed European, Chinese and Indian
influences into a sophisticated repertoire that aims at creating
complex harmonies within a single dish and among groups of dishes.
The aim is to set the key flavors of salt, sour, spic and sweet in
vivid counterpoint, shading the clash with herbs like mint,
basil and cilantro. Ingredients ...

This Thai restaurant received the highest food rating out of
all Asian restaurants in the NJ area by the Zagat Restaurant Survey.
Now I know why. The food here is not only incredible and delicately
prepared, but unique and original. You will find dishes here
that you will not be able to find at any other Thai restaurant.
I recommend one Chef's Special Creation in particular: The Pla
Pa Pang, crispy red snapper with a mouth watering crabmeat stuffing
with a tangy sweet and spicy mushroom and ginger sauce. My favorite
appetizer so far is their Duck Salad: Crispy morsels of fried
duck with a light lemongrass dressing tossed with greens, apples,
and shoots of unripe mango. While most of the dishes seem "nouveaux, "
the classic Thai dishes are done to authentic perfection. I havn't
had curry this good since I was in Thailand (They offer a different
type of chicken curry every day).
The restaurant is small, but artistically decorated, with pink
napkins folded in the s ...

You must make reservations. This is a small popular restaurant
often with larg parties. The food is excellent though not the
really spicy Thai variety. Ask your wait person for specials
and ask for guidance on other menu items. A pleasant experience,
quality food, a little expensive.

This place is tiny and is one of the first Thai restaurants in the
general Essex/Morris area. In the last year or so there has been
an proliferation of new Thai restaurants within 10 minutes of
this restaurant, which should impact greatly on business here.
The food is good but not great. I like my Thai food very hot and spicy,
and the food I ate in this restaurant was pretty tame.
